Dr. Douglas Winter, DVM, Dip AVDC is a 1987 graduate of Kansas State University College of Veterinary Medicine. He is a Diplomate of the American Veterinary Dental College specializing in dentistry and oral surgery. Dr. Winter accepts dentistry and oral surgery cases at the Veterinary Emergency and Specialty Hospital of Wichita and Animal Emergency Clinic Of Northwest Arkansas. He also regularly consults and provides dentistry and oral surgical services to zoos in the Midwest. He has performed over 400 procedures on various exotic and zoo animals, which include root canals, periodontal surgery, fracture repair, and tumor removals. Dr. Winter is very active in the veterinary community, and provides continuing education for general practitioners at the local and national level on topics related to veterinary dentistry. He spends most of his spare time with his wife and two daughters, hiking and biking in the mountains and promoting veterinary dentistry.
