Due to the community’s demand for advanced soft tissue and orthopedic pet surgeries, Medical Director, Brock Lofgreen, DVM, brought on a team of board-certified small animal surgeons.
Ralph Millard, DVM, MS, DACVS and Heather Towle Millard, DVM, MS, DACVS are a much-needed addition to the hospital staff at VESHW and they are eager to bring advanced surgical capabilities with a warm and caring approach to the pets in our community. As Diplomates of the American College of Veterinary Surgeons, their skill is unique to the Wichita and surrounding communities.
The team’s surgical interests include any soft tissue surgery, particularly reconstructive surgeries, oncologic surgeries, minimally invasive procedures, such as laparoscopy, ureter stent placement and SUB placement (re-routing from kidney to urinary bladder). They also perform a multitude of surgeries to repair complex and open fractures, minimally invasive methods of fracture repair of knee (TPLO) surgery for torn CCL (cranial cruciate ligament), various joint/ligament injury repairs, and congenital orthopedic conditions.
The new surgery team is very excited to join the staff at VESHW. Their extensive professional experience and desire to deliver the highest level of care each and every pet makes them a natural fit for the hospital.
