welcome to vetwichita
Thank you for visiting Veterinary Emergency & Specialty Hospital of Wichtia's website.  Feel free to navigate around our webpages to learn about our hospital, our doctors, the various veterinary services offered and lots more!  If you are looking for directions to our hospital, click the "location/contact us" link to view our address and a map showing our location.  Before brining your pet in, please review the "About Our Hospital" link.  There you will find important information pertaining to having your pet seen by a veterinarian and our payment system.

If you need to bring your pet in because of an emergency or because it is acutely ill, we always appreciate a phone call to let us know you will be coming in.  The emergency department does not take appointments and works on a "first come, first served" basis.  Any animal in critical condition will be admitted before animals that are not.  Calling ahead of time allows us to prepare for your pet's arrival.  Visit the "Emergency Services" link to find out more details on the emergency department.

If you need to have your pet seen by our surgical specialist, a referral by your primary care veterinarian and an appointement are necessary.  After the consultation, our specialist will recommend the diagnostics and surgical proceedure necessary.  Visit the "Specialty Surgery" link to learn more about the surgical services offered here.

Advanced dentistry is the newest service available at Veterinary Emergency & Specialty Hospital of Wichita and is provided by Dr. Douglas Winter.  A referral by your primary care veterinarian and an appointment are required to have a consultation visit with Dr. Winter.  Many dental procedures can be done the afternoon of the consultation appointment.  Because most dental procedures for animals require sedation and/or anesthesia, it is important that your pet not eat the morning of his or her dental appointment.  Visit the "Advanced Dentistry" link to learn more about the dental services offered.
