Kansas Humane Society

The Kansas Humane Society (KHS) takes in over 13,000 animals each year by citizens who are unable or unwilling to care for them.  The Humane Society currently finds homes for 70% of the animals made available for adoption.  Most of the animals they take in are dogs and cat, but they do accept other small pets such as guinea pigs, rabbits, ferrets and birds.  The KHS webpage features photos along with short bios of loving animals in need of a good home.  Also featured on the webpage are new and events, educational links for general pet care, and ways to contribute to the Kansas Humane Society's campaign!

American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals

The American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (ASPCA) was founded in 1866 as the first humane organization in the Western Hemisphere.  The Society was formed to alleviate the injustices animals faced then, and they continue to battle cruelty today.  Wheter its saving a pet who has been accidently poisoned, fighting to pass humane laws, rescuing animals from abuse or sharing resources with shelters across the country.  The ASPCA works towards the day in which no animal will live in pain or fear.  Join the fight today by visiting their webpage.  Also get information about pet care, animal behavior, diastger preparedness, ways to donate and more!
